SOUTHEAST ECUADOR: Orange-throated Tanager & Foothill Specialties
|A fresh rarity-seeking itinerary to a rarely visited corner of this incredibly bird-rich country. |
We will have a complete description of this new 2018 tour here soon. In the meantime, we have a brief outline below. If you would like to hold a space, please contact our office.
This exciting new Ecuador tour features a visit to the far Southeast foothills along the Peruvian border to search out some of the special bird species of the outlying ridges. First and foremost we will be after the very local and dazzling Orange-throated Tanager as we visit some of the most accessible sites known for the species. We plan to stay at two well-known lodges in the region -- one on the rustic side, the other quite comfortable and charming -- with good food and the best birding right nearby. Apart from a healthy list of foothill specialties, mixed flocks and colorful tanagers are also on the bill.
