August 2012 E-mailing
Greetings, all!
This month we've got some schedule news on Cape May and Newfoundland/Nova Scotia, a variety of recent tour reports, a look forward to holiday tours, plus of course newly posted itineraries and trip reports and our popular images from the field in the August recent photos gallery (Brazil, Peru, Hawaii, Uganda, Arizona, Virginia, Montana, and Ecuador -- once on that page, click on the slideshow button). Enjoy the pics at left -- our cheat sheet is below!

_Added Cape May II: October 7-13 this fall
Megan CreweWith her first tour fully booked, Megan is jazzed to guide an extra departure, so we've added a second tour Oct 7-13 to that legendary migration destination, Cape May, New Jersey. All aboard for some get-your-pulse-racing birding in Meegs' backyard. The trip's limited to 8, and there are currently 3 spaces still open to join the fun on Cape May Megan's Way.

_Back in 2013: Newfoundland & Nova Scotia
Chris BeneshWith some schedule conflicts, we thought we might have to drop our wonderful Newfoundland & Nova Scotia tour for 2013...but it's back! Guide Chris Benesh will be in the lead for this great birding survey of and cool summer escape to the Canadian Maritimes. Dates are Jun 28-Jul 8. From this year's tour: "I have been on trips with Chris before and enjoy his easy style, good leadership, and superior birding skills. I'd absolutely travel with Chris again. The overall experience was excellent!" And this: "I highly recommend this tour as an opportunity to see a part of North America which is quite different -- a mixture of quaint and modern sights and spectacular bird masses."

_On our news page...
Here's a chance to catch up on some recent goings-on on our website. Have some fun by checking out the following posts on our news page:

Horned Puffin--An Alaska Birding Wrap-up from our first of two 2012 tours, this one with guides Chris Benesh & Jesse Fagan (two more coming for 2013 if you want to make plans!)

Lined Forest-Falcon--Some great teaser photos and a description of our upcoming Oct 13-25 Manu Wildlife Center tour to this incredibly bird-rich region of Peru with Dan Lane, who illustrated and co-authored the field guide in which we can check our lifers! There are 4 spaces still open.

Ruby-topaz Hummingbird--A piece on A Nowhere but Northeast Brazil! experience that'll surely get you itching to grab one or more of those 2013 NE Brazil spaces with Bret and Marcelo under Sep-Jan Openings below. (And did you know you can still get on our Spectacular Southeast Brazil tour with Bret and Marcelo this November if that's a better fit, or take advantage of that one space just opened up on Bret's Brazil's Rio Roosevelt December holiday tour?)

Plate-billed Mountain-Toucan--A Jewels of Ecuador Birding Wrap-up from our second 2012 tour with guides Mitch Lysinger & Willy Perez exploring the numerous birding hotspots of Ecuador's Andes -- and the amazing diversity of flashy birds to be found there.

Jaguar--A Jaguar Spotting: Pantanal & Garden of the Amazon Birding Wrap-up from one of guide Marcelo Padua's two tours for some seriously cool cats combined with some fantastic Brazilian birding...who doesn't want to do that?

Blue-footed Booby--And last, but not least (and you can see it even if you're not on Facebook) a fun, annotated series of Galapagos photos on our Facebook page by guide Megan Crewe from her recent summer trip, one of three on our schedule in recent months (once on the page, click the "previous" button at top right of the image to continue through all seven of Megan's pics in their posting order).
