We will have a complete description of this new 2018 tour here soon. In the meantime, here are a few preliminary details.
This trip features some fabulous birds and mammals and the scenery is wonderful--what more can we ask for? It is our third distinctive India itinerary and makes a fine standalone or complement to our Northern and Southern India tours. Accommodations are good, including the use of big fixed tents at Eaglenest, and our accommodations away from there will be of a much better standard that those used by some other companies. The levels of service from the ground staff are exceptional.
Phil Gregory, who will be guiding our inaugural 2018 tour, notes that "it is simply the most outstanding destination I have been to in recent times, including a road that travels 90 kilometers through untouched Himalayan forest." Additionally, the Indian Rhinos at Kaziranga provide an amazing spectacle--great, silvery, prehistoric beasts seen at close range.
Some of the many bird highlights we expect to see include Himalayan Monal, Snow Partridge, Greater and Lesser Adjutants, Grandala, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Himalayan Cutia, Gold-naped Finch, and Spotted Elachura--among a long list of likely 350-plus species.
