Does watching Yellow Rails and chowin’ down on crawfish tails in Louisiana in October sound like a fun theme for a few days of birding to you? Well, you are in luck! With our first departure fully booked, we’ve added a second departure for our Louisiana: Yellow Rails & Crawfish Tails 2018 tour with guide Dan Lane coming up very soon, Oct 25-29, 2018. Join Dan for a rail-rockin’ good time in Louisiana on this short, five-day tour where we plan to get nice views of Yellow Rails (possibly from a rice combine, if you are up for a ride!), plus several other rail species (Clapper, King, Virginia, and Sora are pretty standard) as well many other exciting species of this region (birds like Red-cockaded Woodpecker, Bachman’s Sparrow, and a big variety of waterfowl and waders). All of this while enjoying some delicious Cajun cuisine along the way makes for a great getaway, we think! You are sure to enjoy the birds (though perhaps not the few extra pounds you might go home with!). We still have some spots open on this added tour — just contact our office to hold a space for yourself. For a little sneak preview, have a look at one of our 2017 triplists at the links below:
