Trip Cancellation Insurance

We strongly recommend you consider purchasing trip cancellation (including medical emergency) insurance to cover your investment in case of injury or illness to you or your family prior to or during a trip. Because we must remit early (and substantial) tour deposits to our suppliers, we will not issue a refund when cancellation occurs outside of our cancellation policy as published in the itinerary (see our Cancellation Policy on this page). (Most personal policies as well as government coverage such as Medicare do not provide coverage outside of your country of domicile.) Please note that you can purchase your travel insurance policy before you book your flights, as you will be able to add the price of your airfare at a later date and pay any supplemental premium at that time. However, we ask that you wait to book flights until we notify you that the tour is operational.

Should you choose to use it, our agent, CSA Travel Protection, will insure for trip cancellation and interruption, medical coverage, travel delay, baggage loss and delay, 24-hour accident protection, and emergency medical transportation. IMPORTANT REMINDER regarding CSA travel insurance: In order for pre-existing conditions to be covered through CSA, your insurance policy must cover all of your non-refundable travel arrangements, including flights. Also, you must purchase the insurance within 24 hours of paying the final tour fee (based on the date the check is written) or any time prior to making full payment. As noted above, participants covered by Medicare should be aware that Medicare does not provide coverage outside the US; a CSA Travel Protection policy does.

The following link will take you to CSA Travel Protection’s site, where you can read more about coverage, check rates, and purchase insurance. (New York and Hawaii residents see important note below.)

Important note for residents of New York or Hawaii

Currently we are unable to offer CSA insurance policies to residents of New York and Hawaii. We have had clients from these states provide positive feedback after acquiring insurance using InsureMyTrip in the past and would suggest that as an alternative. When purchasing insurance with a company other than CSA, you will want to understand whether the timing of your purchase will affect coverage before paying your first deposit. Insurance purchase requirements can vary from company to company, and such requirements could limit your options if you do not look into this until making your final payment for your tour.  Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
